AH_Cave Spider juvenile {probably Mesostalita nocturna}_2652.jpg

Cave Spider {probably Mesostalita nocturna}. This species is a true troglobite (living only in caves) and is highly adapted to the cave environment. Whilst it has no eyes, it is very sensitive to vibrations, which it uses to track down prey. Found low on the wall of a karstic cave, Slovenia. March.
