AH_Barn Owl (Tyto alba) Foot_2.jpg
Barn Owl (Tyto alba) foot detail. The underside of a barn owl's foot has a knobbly surface that helps them to grip prey or a perch. The extremely sharp talons are used to kill prey via foot clenching. The notably long legs and talons of barn owls enable them to catch prey in deep vegetation.
