Bullet Ant worker {Paraponera clavata}. This insect's sting is reportd to be more painful than that of any other hymenopteran, ranked at the top of the Schmidt sting pain index at 4+, above the tarantula hawk wasp. Some victims report the sting to feel like being shot, hence the name of the ant. Photographed (with extreme caution) on a white background in mobile field studio.
