Moulting Huntsman spider (Sparassidae), hanging from a silk thread below its moulted skin. Note the two pale legs on the left of the spider that have regrown after being previosuly lost. Moulting gives spiders an opportunity to regenerate lost limbs. Until it's new exoskeleton hardens, this spider will be vulnerable to damange for a few hours. Danum Valley, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia. September.
