EarthBound is a Derbyshire-based collaborative project between two photographers, Alex Hyde and Kate Bellis, and sculptor Sally Matthews. Exploring the world from the ground up, we investigate how soil health and an area's underlying geology influences our daily lives and the the biodiversity around us.

South Georgia

Many of these compositions are less than a centimetre across in real life, yet their complexity and beauty is captivating.

Please take a few moments in this gallery to get to know some the world's smaller inhabitants. I have spent more time working with invertebrates than any other subject. Their diversity and often bizarre appearances captivates me.

I have visited Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia twice and know I will be back for more! A truly magical place, a land of mossy waterfalls, misty beech woodlands and fire salamanders.
